6.1.15 Gen. 25: Abraham’s Death

After the courtship of Isaac, described with oriental detail and clear  narrative joy, Abraham’s mission is now fulfilled. Very briefly, as it were  under a distant second, are now dealt with one after the other:

  •  Abraham’s second marriage including family tree
  • Abraham’s death and burial
  • Ishmael and his family tree
  • Birth of Esau and Jacob and finally the
  • Sale of the birthright for a dish of lentils.
