Hermeneutics involves the discipline and theories of understanding. Seen as a theological discipline, hermeneutics describes ways and/or theories of how to understand the Bible. The unique character of the Bible necessitates a special biblical hermeneutic. The texts of the Holy Scriptures cannot correctly be handled using the same methods as every other text. The Bible’s distinction requires particular ways of approaching it.
