Hermeneutics involves the discipline and theories of understanding. Seen as a theological discipline, hermeneutics describes ways and/or theories of how to understand the Bible. Whereas exegesis always concentrates on the specific content of distinct Bible texts, hermeneutics asks questions related to the foundational presuppositions necessary for a right understanding of the Holy Scriptures.
