4.1 Introduction

Most of us will be placed in positions of leadership at some time in our lives.  Managers and owners of business are obvious leaders as are pastors and “elders” in a church.  However there will be many times when leadership roles come up in different periods of our lives – parental roles, leading a committee, a Sunday school leader, a leadership role as a volunteer, positions of leadership in high school, and so the list of leadership roles that we may take up at various stages in our life goes on.
