5.1.2 Genealogy (toledoth)

The two subsequent genealogies (חולדוח : toledoth) establish the  connection between the primeval history and the paternal history that  now follows. Since there is no conciliatory conclusion in the primeval  history, the entire paternal history serves to replace this conclusion.
