Lesson 1 of 0
In Progress

8.0 Texts, Experiences, and Optimization

We have now achieved a lot for the church. You know your target group, you have planned your way, how you will approach unfamiliar people monthly, pick them up and lead them to church and to Jesus. You also have a distribution funnel for this, lifecycles with CtA. In addition, you gave your church a whole new outfit, with perfume and rules of conduct, so that the people whom you want to give a spiritual home to will truly feel at ease and will become followers of Jesus with passion. For this you will NOT need a comfortable gospel; this is not something we need. The competition has enough of this. Everywhere people are offered a carefree package. With you, at church, people come in contact with a living God, who frees them from their selfishness and finally gives them a purposeful life. If you keep the stages of the distribution funnel in mind, you can open people’s eyes, step by step, to the true captivity in which they are caught, and then they too will want to accept the freedom of Jesus.

Now we come to another small tool, which is very important however, and then at the end to the point: How do we bring such a momentum into the distribution funnel, that it functions like a flywheel and brings about true change in the community.

First for our tool:

How do I create text for flyers, websites, sermon headings, etc.

Texts, for example, that should speak directly to people and motivate them to do something specific as a CtA, have nothing to do with texts for teaching content, sermons, or informational brochures. Imagine our wild cows in our cow story first found straw in the feeding troughs. The straw covers the corn underneath. What happens? Probably many cows will simply pass by the feeding trough, if any cows even had the idea to look under to straw for corn. Exactly the same thing happens with texts that are bone-dry, complicated, or simply boring. Why should I read that? Or even do what it says inside?

A little test for you: Imagine that you come across a video on facebook. It shows a stage and a little matchstick man whom you hardly recognize. Underneath the title: “Just go!” or “Why does the blood make you free?” What do you do? Well, I would just scroll past. Now on the next page I encounter a beautiful lady and next to her a handsome man kisses her.  Underneath is the title “6 UNCOMMON steps that saved my marriage!” A video for YOU! What do you do? Well, I would at the very least click on it. If the video hooks me in the first 5 seconds, then I will watch it.  Why? Because the text made me so curious that I cannot do anything other than click on it. I NEED TO KNOW!

I want to go through two kinds of texts with you.
